Orange iPhone Contract
The Orange iPhone contract is on its way…
So Orange have thrown their hat into the ring amidst all the specualtion rumours and said they will soon be offering theh iPhone contract on Orange.
This is great news for pretty much everyone involved with iPhones – except O2 who have held the exclusive rights to sell the iPhone contract in the UK since it launched 3 years ago.
It is good news because hopefully we should start to see some market economic forces of competition come into effect, with O2 and Orange (and maybe Vodafone and T-Mobile as well) competing on the price of the iPhone. This will mean the price of the iPhone contract on Orange and other networks should come down.
The only reason that prices might not come down is if there is a pricing cartel in operation – an agreement between the networks to artifically maintain a high price – completely illegal and a hugely jailable offense – if undiscovered would work aand be very effective in holding up the price of the Orange iPhone contract handset.

Think prices will come down. Research shows that the iphone is cheaper in other countries where it’s no longer exclusive. Fingers crossed for some good iphone deals this christmas!
